Founders Report
From the time of my involvement in Tidal Range Power commencing in 2006, I have had the privilege of meeting many good people who have supported the Tidal Energy cause. Robert Lily at the DTI who had steered onshore and offshore wind, Roy Evans at the Crown Estate, John Constable at the Renewable Energy Foundation (the London Nuclear lobby), Jonathon Porritt, Lord Peter Hain, Professor Roger Falconer, the Team at Arup etc. etc. the list is extremely long.
Rising above these is Wendy Hubbard of Bristol (my longest and staunchest supporter) along with the pages and pages of the great British Public writing to me wanting to invest in Tidal Electricity!
These supporters, have failed to understand their Government’s reluctance to push Tidal Electric, which they overwhelmingly support, and instead deal with the French and the Chinese in Nuclear Power, something they wholeheartedly reject…
As for the eco-lobby, it is crystal clear from the meetings we have had that the grass roots (as opposed to the top-table) of these organisations fully support Tidal and reject Nuclear.
Using environmental catastrophe issues will not work as regards the Severn Estuary Causeway. The Cardiff Bay Barrage created a two-hundred acre fresh water lake alongside the City and despite all the gloom and doom, the whole Project was a great success.
Sadly, it now seems that my twenty years may have been wasted in lobbying for Tidal Range, as apparently from my undisclosed sources, there are forces within Government who lobby relentlessly for Nuclear and block Tidal Range (so much for democracy). Ken Clarke and British American Tobacco, and the deaths that may have caused, come to mind!!! However!
My aim in going forward is to promote the AI answer through the Government, the Crown Estate and the potential developers and avoid any further analysis paralysis and continue on a more Tangible route, sourcing turbine suppliers / supporting the other six Tidal Range sites / strengthening my turbine hall patent and build a model of my patented turbine hall to be shown around the UK.
Let’s Do It!
